Some say the United Airlines Club Honolulu is much too basic and dated but I think it’s perfect for the Honolulu Airport and provides a wonderful escape from the main terminal areas.

A visit with holiday decorations on display and a hot cocoa station ready to go highlights why so many enjoy this United Club

Seating

Almost every lounge review in existence talks about seating and this one is no different. I have seen some photos of this lounge from days long gone and can assure you the seating has changed quite a bit.

The lounge offers multiple expansive seating areas with various options, a large bar in the rear, and is typically quiet, providing privacy and personal space.

Unlike the Honolulu Admirals Club, the tarmac views are some of the best for the Honolulu Airport.

Food & Drink

The lounge provides a continental breakfast and snacks, soups, and salads throughout the day. Complimentary soft drinks, house wine, and beer are available, with premium drinks for sale.

One thing unique about the United Club Lounge in Honolulu is the Dole Whip machine, don’t pass it up no matter how much you had during your visit. You can see it in the image below under the grass-roofed display, tiki torches and all.

The hot cocoa station was a nice touch during this time of year, with full access to the whipped cream can.

Service

The lounge is noted for its friendly staff and service, with food and drinks continuously stocked. All seating areas have been updated to include USB plugs and electrical sockets.

Grab one of the seats by the window if available and if you have time enjoy some beautiful views of the Honolulu Airport, maybe even a sunset.

Final Thoughts

The United Club at Honolulu airport, while in need of some updates in décor and amenities, is appreciated for its Hawaiian charm, abundance of sunlight, and runway views. If you have been here let us know in the comments what your experience was like.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. I grew up in Kaʻalaea on Oʻahu, surrounded by the beauty and complexity of Hawaiʻi, which shaped how I see the world and connect with it. As a native Hawaiian and someone who works in airline industry, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the details—whether it’s about travel, culture, or the people who make it all happen. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust. For a closer look, you can also find me on YouTube, where I dive deeper with visual reviews and updates. My hope is that this space helps you connect with Hawaiʻi in a meaningful way, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
