Lobby Experience

From the moment you arrive at the Ritz Carlton Macau and enter the lower Atrium, you will be impressed by the beautiful flower bouquets and flawless Italian Marble. The glamorous chandeliers that await you highlight the perfection of service. Though this was my first visit at Macau’s most luxurious address, I was expected and everybody greeted me by name, making me feel welcome and important.

Ritz Carlton Macau Lobby

Check in is located on the 51st floor. A second warm and personalized welcoming was awaiting me here. Also located on the 51st floor is the Ritz Carlton Bar & Lounge, offering gorgeous views over Cotai and Michelin Starred “Lai Heen” Restaurant.

The Suite

Though I booked a standard Premier Suite, due to my Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite Status, I was upgraded to a slightly bigger, 100sqm Carlton Suite, with separate elegant living area and comfortable King Bedroom.

The Ritz Carlton Macau Living Area

Living Room

The Living room in the heart of this suite is very spacious compared to other hotels I have stayed at before. It offers seating for 6 people, a sofa and a separate ottoman chair. A large LCD TV, separate desk/table for eventual office work and a bar cabinet with coffee maker make it complete. The soft carpet, artwork and orchids are some of the small details that add to the entire luxurious experience.

Bedroom

Walking further inside is the King Bedroom. Fine Italian linens, soft colors and warm lighting, will make you want to not to leave this cozy but luxurious retreat in the morning. The bed was extremely comfortable and the separate seating area next to the window provides an additional space to rest, read a book or just enjoy the views over the resort’s pool deck.

Bathroom

Entering the room, located on the left of the entrance is a well sized walk in closet with seating and make-up vanities. This is connected to the probably most photographed bathroom in Macau. Set in beautiful white marble, the bathroom offers double vanities, a magnificent Rainforest shower and the ‘famous’ round and oversized bath tub in the center. All bathroom amenities are from Asprey Purple Water, as expected from Ritz Carlton.

Marriott Bonvoy’s Service and Benefits

As mentioned in the beginning, the service at the Ritz Carlton Macau will be exceeding anyone’s expectation. First of all, considering every detail, every Staff knew my name during the entire stay. As I requested a wake-up call during check in, I was asked if I wanted some coffee delivered to my room. As I like my coffee strong and black, I mentioned this. Even this little detail was remembered and immediately brought forward. When I went to the Club Lounge just minutes after check-in, the waiter knew about it already.

During the day, I spent most of my time in the club lounge and had several glasses of excellent Ritz-Carlton branded Champagne. This was not only noted, but when I went back to my room in the evening, an ice-cold bottle was awaiting me there, coming with a note “…we realized that you enjoy our Champagne…” . This was additional to all the welcome treats, including a bottle of red wine, fresh fruits, handmade sweets and a cheese platter. Simply amazing.

The Ritz Carlton Macau Suite Gift

As I have mentioned earlier, one of the benefits I enjoyed as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite Member was the complimentary upgrade. Members can also choose to be upgraded to enjoy Club Lounge access for two plus further benefits like free Limousine Transfer for a reduced price of 1000MOP, which I have chosen to do.

Value

I redeemed this stay for 40000 points, instead of paying the member rate of over 4000MOP or 500$, valuating the points at over 1.25 cents.

What do you think? Have you stayed at the The Ritz Carlton Macau ? How was your experience?
