After a fantastic visit to STRIPSTEAK Las Vegas, I walked into the STRIPSTEAK Waikiki location with high hopes—and my steak cravings firmly in place. Spoiler alert: It delivered, though there were a couple of moments that didn’t quite hit the high notes. Let’s break it down.

The Food At STRIPSTEAK Waikiki

  • Drinks: I kicked off with an Espresso Martini and a Guava Margarita. Both were well-balanced and memorable. The bar scene here is no joke—if you’re into craft cocktails, put this on your Waikiki list.
  • Appetizers: Complimentary fries with three dipping sauces? Yes, please. They set the tone perfectly for a splurge-worthy meal and were exactly like the ones I had at the STRIPSTEAK Las Vegas.

  • The Chop Chop Wedge Salad was a standout, especially with their thoughtful blue cheese customization. Light on one plate, loaded on the other—it’s the little things that count.

  • The Crab Cake was a bit of a letdown. One lonely crab cake came out a little too salty, though its thick, tender texture almost saved it.

  • Main Course:
    • The 34-ounce Tomahawk Steak was the star. Perfectly charred and melt-in-your-mouth tender, which is no small feat given its size.
  • Sides were a mixed bag: The Whipped Potatoes were buttery, airy perfection, while the Charred Broccolini felt like an overthought experiment—the sweet sauce and charred flavor clashed.
  • Dessert: The Cheesecake with Seasonal Berries was a safe choice and didn’t disappoint, but the Grilled Pineapple Foster being flambéed tableside at another table left me with food envy. Go for the Foster if you visit.

Service

Service was flawless from start to finish. The team—host, servers, and the rotating cast of friendly table attendants—made it look effortless despite the packed house. Every need was met promptly, and even my request for more time to decide came with a genuine smile.

Ambiance

This spot balances upscale and casual in true Waikiki fashion. You’ll see everything from date-night-ready outfits to the quintessential island combo of shorts and slippers. Beachwear might push the limits, but don’t stress about dressing to the nines.
It’s also a great bar hangout, with a lively vibe that doesn’t overwhelm the dining experience.

Final Thoughts

STRIPSTEAK Waikiki lives up to its Las Vegas counterpart in most ways, with a killer steak and cocktails that’ll impress even the pickiest drinker. The crab cake and broccolini could use some fine-tuning, but those are minor blips in an otherwise stellar experience.

Remember that this is Waikiki and showing up in slippers and shorts is par for the course at almost any restaurant except a small handful. If underdressed diners irks you, have a cocktail and get over it.
