The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, which is a member of Marriott Bonvoy’s network of 30 remarkable hotel brands, has  announced the  inauguration of Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Madrid, marking The Luxury Collection’s first property in  the renowned city.

At the heart of Madrid’s aristocratic Chamber neighborhood, the hotel provides easy access to the city’s most exciting and coveted  attractions. The Sorolla Museum and other cultural sites are just a short walk away, charming flamenco shows at the Teatros del Canal, and the Andén  0  Metro  Station, an exhibition space housed in a restored tube station.

The ancient structure, which dates all the way back to the 18th century, was formerly the Duke of Santo Mauro’s palace.

The hotel’s bedrooms, public areas, restaurants, and gardens have all been thoughtfully renovated. Three buildings are surrounded  by immaculate gardens with centuries old chestnut trees, all of which may be observed from the hotel’s lovely garden terrace. The  49 guest room resort is adorned with fine bespoke furnishings and art pieces and has ten spectacular suites with exclusive outside  balconies overlooking the hotel’s gorgeous vegetation.

At  the  head  of  the  makeover,  renowned  interior  designer  Lorenzo  Castillo  ensured  that  the  next  chapter  of  the  building’s story  honors  its  Spanish  legacy  with  exquisite  décor  that  represents  the  hotel’s  extraordinary  position  in  the  center  of Madrid.

Guests staying at the hotel will be enchanted by the luxurious, clean design elements, which infuse each restored area with an unmatched feeling of authenticity. Natural materials like stone, marble, and wood have been used to renew the guest rooms.  Furnishings in velvety leather, dark blue velvet, and silk have  been installed to give the refurbished palace a modern yet exquisite air. A neutral earthy tonal palette maintains a combination of traditional warmth and modernity throughout the palatial guest rooms and suites.

The hotel features famed Chef Rafael Pea, who has refined his skills in some of the world’s finest kitchens and has his own successful  restaurant, Gresca, in Barcelona. Rafael will take over the culinary concept at La Biblioteca and El Jardin,  presenting menus inspired by noble house dinners, including outstanding tasting menus and choices for the Spanish tradition of late breakfast and afternoon snack ‘La  Merienda’.

As the name implies, La Biblioteca is a repository for priceless books and antiques, offering a welcoming ambiance of easy  refinement to couples, families, friends, and groups.

This calm retreat from the city features an indoor pool, ideal for unwinding after a day spent seeing Madrid’s bustling heart. The  second phase of the improvements, scheduled to begin in summer 2022, will include the addition of a new spa and exercise  facility.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi.
