The Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s network of 30 outstanding hotel brands, is the company’s second resort in the Island of the Gods. The Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort’s design is inspired by the enormous theatrics of traditional Balinese dances, particularly the Barong Dance, and pays respect to one of the island’s oldest forms of performing arts. P49 Deesign’s painstaking design work has brought the newly built resort to life as a homage to the richness of Balinese culture. Traditional Balinese dance routines are greatly influenced by nature, as seen by the ‘Good vs Evil’ paintings and prints at R Bar, the vivid industrial-style decor at the Backstage, and the attractive dance performance patterns gracing the ballroom’s background.
With a Balinese mask pattern on the ceiling, a modern creation of ‘Balinese dancer’s head’ gobo light, and turquoise-accented walls for a sense of tranquility, the 310 guest rooms and suites are lovingly built as a tribute to the island’s heritage. The modern rooms are perfectly built, with huge bathrooms, and provide stunning views of the island. Decorative wall ceramics decorate the walls to enhance the aesthetic of the area, which features a freestanding ivory bathtub as its centerpiece, paying respect to the island’s natural elements.
Backstage, an all-day dining restaurant with a buffet and live stations, is the centerpiece of the resort’s six tantalizing food and beverage experiences. Lion X is a trendy Chinese restaurant with creative menu items such as Dim Sum and modernized Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine. Nusantara by Locavore, an authentic Indonesian restaurant, celebrates the country’s culinary legacy by taking a fresh look at regional cuisines. Tanah Liat is a ceramics atelier and cooking lab by day, and an arts-and-crafts inspired restaurant by night, serving locally sourced fresh seasonal fish and plant-based cuisines.
Atomic 17 is the resort’s resident pool bar, serving fresh juices and smoothies throughout the day, as well as purist cocktails. R Bar, which connects the lobby and lounge, is where guests can rest and unwind with experienced mixologists and baristas over handmade cocktails, cold-brew coffee, and more. R Bar turns into an elevated location where guests and locals can meet and mingle over a complete cocktail program and live music every evening as part of the trademark Evenings at Renaissance programme – a ritual that ushers in the change from daytime to nighttime.
Guests may unwind at The Spa wellness facility, which offers treatments inspired by the art of Balinese healing, or stay in shape at the 24-hour gym. The main pool is located across the lobby, while the jungle pool is surrounded by thick flora and runs alongside a man-made waterfall, evoking the natural beauty that the island is known for. The Cove, a magnificent wedding site with an aisle going directly to the centre of the pool, is also nestled in the lagoon-like jungle pool.
The resort has a versatile function area of 12,055 square feet available for any special occasion. The Grand Ballroom, which is fully equipped with sophisticated audiovisual capabilities, can seat up to 1,100 people. The resort includes five event rooms and a maximum of seven breakout spaces, making it ideal for corporate gatherings. The R.E.N. Meeting program at Renaissance Hotels provides a specialized event staff devoted to providing smooth event experiences.
