The new Muir Autograph Collection store has opened in the heart of Queen’s Marque in Halifax’s new waterfront district. Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection Hotels is a diverse and dynamic portfolio of independent hotels whose focus is on individuality.

Stunning Architecture and a Sense of Place

A connection with place is made throughout the property, from local materials like salt-and-pepper granite and sandstone to Muntz metal, which is commonly used in shipbuilding. All of these elements work together to create a design that has an indelible sense of place.

Muir Autograph Collection Hotel Room with ocean view

Alessandro Munge of Canada’s Studio Munge created the interiors and furnishings for Muir. A modern interpretation of East Coast design is found throughout the hotel in both custom furniture and custom lighting – all designed and crafted in Canada. With richly textured white oak walls and white oak plank flooring, the 109 rooms and suites provide a subtle nod to ocean voyages, while gathering spaces are highlighted by soft cove lighting and lively fireplaces. We have commissioned landscape paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, and tapestries from local artists throughout the property.

Gourmet Cuisine and Cocktails at The Muir Autograph Collection

Inspired by this region’s natural bounty, Drift is a culinary love letter to the land, the people, and the history of Nova Scotia. Anthony Walsh and James MacAulay, Drift’s celebrated chefs, create modern, elevated takes on classic Atlantic Canadian dishes. The spacious bar at Drift is designed for entertaining colleagues or for quiet work.  The spacious bar is as unique as Muir itself. Featuring exquisite craftsmanship and premium materials, the dining room is expansive and comfortable, which is complemented by an outdoor patio with breathtaking views of the waterfront. Our floor-to-ceiling marble fireplaces, leather-wrapped walls, bespoke furnishings, and soft lighting give our guests the feeling of lingering and connecting.

Speaking-aloud lounge BKS is surrounded by carved wooden walls, muted marble, and luxurious banquettes. With a harbourside private terrace boasting the most desirable views of the city, BKS is a discreet setting for historically-inspired premium cocktails and unique small plates.

Distinctive Amenities and Experiences

Windward Wellness is the hotel’s ultra-premium wellness center, where guests can rest and rejuvenate with high-performance fitness equipment, a vitality spa pool, and a halotherapy salt room. Muir’s 36-foot Morris yacht Little Wing, as well as his high-speed motorboat Reach, are available for guests who wish to explore the harbor and take in the sights of this much-loved city.

Your Next Favourite Meetings and Gatherings Destination

Business meetings, celebrations, and events can all be held at the hotel. Additionally, True Colors Art Gallery offers a dramatic harbor front backdrop for exclusive gatherings, which is complemented by conversation-starting art. Muir guests are entitled to complimentary use of The Wardroom, a fully-equipped, private executive meeting room that can accommodate up to six people. An event space surrounded by water on three sides. Besides, the Watch features bespoke furniture, art collections, two private bars, and a private tasting room that make the atmosphere as cool as it gets

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. I grew up in Kaʻalaea on Oʻahu, surrounded by the beauty and complexity of Hawaiʻi, which shaped how I see the world and connect with it. As a native Hawaiian and someone who works in airline industry, I’ve always been drawn to understanding the details—whether it’s about travel, culture, or the people who make it all happen. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust. For a closer look, you can also find me on YouTube, where I dive deeper with visual reviews and updates. My hope is that this space helps you connect with Hawaiʻi in a meaningful way, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
