Mokulele Airlines is celebrating its anniversary with a Buy One Get One Free fare deal across nearly all Hawaiian inter-island routes. As a frequent island hopper, I’ve flown aboard them many times—so here’s the lowdown.

And in case you missed it—Japan Airlines travelers can now book Mokulele flights directly through JAL’s system, making international-to-interisland transfers a bit smoother.

What’s the Deal?

BOGO on one-way fares — book one seat, get the second for free.

Zero blackout dates — travel whenever you like (as long as seats are available).

Exception: the sale excludes flights to/from Moloka‘i (MKK), which is Mokulele’s most popular route. Disappointing if you’re aiming for Moloka‘i visits.

My Mokulele Flight Experiences

If you’ve never flown with Mokulele, you’re in for a totally different inter-island experience—think low altitude, wide views, and planes small enough that you’ll know the pilot’s name by the end of the flight. I’ve taken a few of their routes and documented every detail:

✈️ Lāna‘i to Honolulu
One of my favorite hops for stunning aerial views and smooth skies. You can read the full experience in my Flight Review: Mokulele Airlines Lāna‘i (LNY) to Honolulu (HNL).

✈️ Honolulu to Lāna‘i
I flew this route to compare the reverse journey—turns out, just as good going the other way. My full take is in the Mokulele Airlines Review: Honolulu to Lāna‘i.

✈️ Honolulu to Kāpālua (Maui)
If you want a cinematic approach to Maui, this is the one. Low passes over the coast, tiny terminal, and quick boarding—check out my review for the full vibe.

Aloha, and welcome. Your journey around the web has brought you here, and I’m grateful for the chance to share a bit about Hawaiʻi with you. I do my best to provide thoughtful insights on hotels, airlines, dining, and the ever-evolving travel scene in Hawaiʻi. I travel extensively across the islands, seeking out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s truly worth sharing. From the latest hotel openings to restaurant reviews and updates on travel trends, I aim to bring you accurate, first-hand insights you can trust.
