Frequently Asked Questions About Huaka‘i by Hawaiian

Do I need to be a HawaiianMiles member to join Huaka‘i by Hawaiian?
Yes, you’ll need a HawaiianMiles account with a mailing address in Hawai‘i to sign up. Don’t worry if you’re not already a member—you can join HawaiianMiles for free anytime! Sign up here.

If you’re enrolling a child under 13 who doesn’t have a HawaiianMiles account, please call the HawaiianMiles Service Center at 1-877-HA-MILES (1-877-426-4537), Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (HST) for assistance.

How long do I need to live in Hawai‘i to qualify?
There’s no minimum residency requirement! However, your HawaiianMiles account must have a verified Hawai‘i address, and eligibility is rechecked every year on the anniversary of your enrollment.

When do Huaka‘i by Hawaiian benefits start?
If you join in 2024, you’ll get your first quarterly discount code via email in December. Then, starting January 8, 2025, your free checked bag benefit will kick in and apply to any existing reservations.

Is the free checked bag added to other free checked bag benefits?
No, the free checked bag benefit from Huaka‘i by Hawaiian doesn’t stack with other perks. If you’re a Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard® cardmember, Pualani Elite member, Premier Club member, or First Class guest, your usual free bag allowances remain the same.

How do I get my quarterly discount codes?
You’ll receive four unique discount codes each year, one at the start of each quarter. These codes are emailed directly to you but won’t show up in your online HawaiianMiles account.

Can I use my quarterly discount code for a roundtrip flight?
Yes! Your discount code can be applied to either a one-way or roundtrip flight between the Hawaiian Islands on Hawaiian Airlines. Each code is single-use and valid for one traveler. However, keep in mind that these discounts don’t combine with other promotional codes or discounts, like corporate rates.

Can I use my quarterly discount code on a First Class ticket?
Absolutely! You can apply your code to either Main Cabin or First Class seats on inter-island flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines. Just remember, discount codes can’t be combined with other offers, such as promotional or corporate discounts.
